Beverly Jeeves

Beverly started her musical journey at the young age of five. Beverly is part of generations of musicians from Cape Breton.

Before retiring, Beverly taught voice, guitar, piano, ukulele and orchestration to over one hundred students. Beverly also combined her talents and the arts, with historical groups to expose the culture of the communities she lived in.

Beverly is involved in workshops with the City of Kawartha Lakes on researching techniques for both personal and community groups to expose their history, so that future generations may know this area’s culture.

A wise woman named Debra Soule said “Culture is passed down from one generation to the next, but it is ever-changing and evolves over time.” When cultures intersect (through music, theatre, paintings, film, literature and history), communities are exposed to new ideas, different believes or activities.

Beverly can be found busking every Friday at the Fenelon Falls Farmers Market, doing open mics, Concerts in The Park, the Fenelon Museum–Maryboro Lodge’s Victorian Teas, and other various gigs around the City of Kawartha Lakes. Beverly sees so much potential in this area for the arts, heritage and cultural sectors to collide in a positive way; and she would like to be part of that!
