Marilyn Clayton
Marilyn Clayton is the artist and metalsmith behind 8th by MOC Designs, a studio rooted in craftsmanship, storytelling, and emotional depth. Working across fine jewellery and encaustic mixed media, her process begins with reverence for natural materials, especially premium gemstones, which guide each piece from concept to completion. Using techniques such as metalsmithing, wire weaving, kumihimo, braiding, and encaustic wax, Marilyn creates one-of-a-kind and limited works that bridge structure and intuition. Her jewellery is designed as wearable art, honoring both material excellence and the unseen energy carried within stone, metal, and form. Each piece is intentionally crafted to feel personal, timeless, and deeply connected to the wearer. Her encaustic works extend this philosophy into sculptural and ritual objects, integrating wax, handmade paper, and organic elements to explore memory, legacy, and connection.
