Branding yourself and your practice with particular colours and styles can help your customers recognize and better understand who you are. In this workshop, participants will use the free graphic design tool, Canva, to create graphics to promote their work. They will look at settings to make sure their images are the best quality whether they’re used online or printed and also learn to use Canva to easily format photographs for online grant and exhibition applications.

Steve Blair • Project Lead
Steve has been teaching coding, digital skills, and new media workshops for learners ages 5-95 through various non-profits since 2006. He is particularly passionate about learning new ways to combine art and technology to create weird and wonderful things. When he's not out with his dogs exploring the trails around Peterborough, he's likely watching documentaries, working on his breadboard computer project, or re-reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Mary McDonald • Project Facilitator
Mary is an educator, writer and media artist who loves to collaborate. She creates poetry films and Augmented Reality art installations. Mary gets really excited about participatory media/digital arts projects and believes in the potential for creative technologies to inspire individuals and connect communities. Mary has a B.Ed, specializing in Special Education and Language Literacy and has recently completed her Master’s of Educational Technology degree through UBC. Mary loves traveling to meet new people, learn about different ways of being, and experiencing new landscapes.
