Stephanie Katrina’s mixed media collage pieces are known for their rich visual textures that mimic the experience of looking closely at natural objects. Her lifelong love of exuberant creation celebrates the relationship between nature, energy, and emotions, through the light, colour and textures of various materials. As a mixed media artist, she layers self-painted papers, textiles, natural objects, and various ephemera in her pieces. Abstract landscapes hold a space for the places, feelings and moments that slip away. Luminous playful florals evoke the simplicity of play and childhood. Her “Connections” collection makes the energies of light, people, natural and spiritual images visible. Evident in all her works, is her goal, to create pieces of joy, peace, and shared connections. Her current focus is on smaller canvases and wood panels that can be added to many spots in the home for layered richness and radiance.
