Kelly Maw
Kelly Maw is a happy full time artist and painting teacher in the Kawartha Lakes. She loves playing with watercolour, acrylics and mixed media and considers herself somewhat of a restless artist spending all of her time experimenting with various mediums and then sharing that knowledge with her students. It is in this restlessness that growth and exciting pieces emerge!
Once Kelly mastered her 2 brush 2 step acrylic blending technique she fell in love with texture and loose movement. This is seen through her bodies of work as she healed emotional wounds and learned to let go of control; making a point of using the plethora of materials she’s stashed over the years she celebrates magic from the combination of heart and art. Modelling paste, inks, spray paints, collage and so much more combine to make a creative feast on the canvas for Kelly!
She is a 10+ year juried member at the Owen Sound Artist Co-op as well as The Southampton Arts Centre. In the summer months Kelly travels Canada in her mobile Art Studio RV selling her art and teaching classes accompanied by her side kick pooch Richard.
Kelly abandoned 20 years of corporate grind to forge a creative life with no dental coverage and she hasn’t stopped smiling since! Find her at kellymaw.com and visit her home studio in Cameron, ON.
