Marybeth Earls

I am a Canadian fibre and beadwork artist working primarily with hand-woven seed-bead tapestries. My work is created bead by bead on a loom using traditional techniques, with each piece functioning as both visual art and storytelling. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, Indigenous teachings, and themes of resilience, belonging, and connection, my tapestries reflect an intimate relationship between land, memory, and spirit. Working under the name Golden Dragonfly Beading, I create original designs that explore florals, animals, ancestral symbolism, and moments of quiet reflection. Each tapestry is intentionally slow-made, honouring patience, process, and the meditative rhythm of handwork. My practice values authenticity, respect for cultural teachings, and the preservation of fibre-based art forms in contemporary spaces. In addition to creating large-scale bead tapestries, I share my work through exhibitions, markets, and community events, and I am passionate about engaging audiences in conversations about art as connection, healing, and living history. My work invites viewers to pause, reflect, and experience the power of story held in small, deliberate details.
